Certainly beats "hello" and "good morning" as far as greetings go. Even though It's probably the most recogizable Hindi expression I don't thing that the vast majority of people appreciate the depth of it's meaning...I know I didn't.I suppose It's because there isn't a widely used greeting in English that's this profound. Because of our frames of reference our idea of a "greeting" can't hold a concept as wide as this. It's easier for us to get our heads around a more superficial translation.
